Encinitas Community Celebrates 25 Local Heroes

The top 25 generous people in Encinitas get recognized tomorrow night at the ELLIE Awards.

Encinitas this year and tomorrow evening, 25 comes into play again as some of the most outstanding people in our city get recognized.

, a celebration of people from all over Encinitas and their generous contributions to the city over the last 25 years, will be in conjunction with the Annual ELLIE (El Camino Real/Encinitas Boulevard) Awards this year. People will be awarded at the numeric ceremony for things like their service in the , schools, real estate and insurance. Nominees were submitted by Oct. 13 and the full list of the 25 recipients is as follows:

The night will include a delicious dinner, provided by , a silent auction, fashion and the naming of the Educator of the Year 2011, which will go to the principal of the , Dana Abplanalp-Diggs. Jim Benedetti will also be awarded the Party Attendance Award, as he missed not a single Sundowner in the last year.
