“We are very grateful for all the support we received for our first event of the year”, said EEF President Gerald Singleton. “The state education cuts have crippled our district’s budget. EEF’s goal this year is to raise enough money from the community of Encinitas and south Carlsbad to enable the district to continue to provide a superb education to all district students.”

The district, which consists of five schools in Encinitas and four in south Carlsbad, is severely impacted by state budget cuts to education. One third of the district’s elementary schools have large low-income student populations and receive Title I federal funding.
