Olivenhain Arts and Crafts Fair This Weekend

Yes, it's already time for early Christmas shopping.

The Olivenhain Old Meeting Hall is hosting its annual this weekend, which will feature beautiful (and yummy) work by local artists and crafters. All items sold at the craft fair will be made only by the artisan — nothing will be imported.

As usual with fall fairs, this is a great chance for some early Christmas shopping. You can find unique and meaningful gifts for your loved ones, like handmade aprons, one-of-a-kind jewelry, knitted hats and legwarmers, quilts, ornaments and more. The local 4-H Club will be there with food items, like canned jellies and pickles.

The fall fair takes place in the Olivenhain Old Meeting Hall, which is situated under a grove of eucalyptus trees. The colony of Olivenhain was begun back in 1885 by German immigrants and has since evolved into much more, including a town council that seeks to preserve the Olivenhain Home and the rural atmosphere that surrounds it. You can become a member of the Town Council for $25, which goes toward maintenance of the grounds and monthly newsletters.
