Photos: 2011 Encinitas Christmas Parade
Colorful costumes and floats filled Encinitas during the biggest parade in years.
The 2011 Encinitas Holiday Parade kicked off with a tree-lighting ceremony this past Saturday, Dec. 3. A half an hour later, thousands gathered around downtown Encinitas to watch Santa Clauses, surfers, holiday-themed cars and floats make their south on Coast Highway 101.
This year’s parade marked the city’s 25th anniversary of incorporation. Lead by Grand Marshall Don Hansen (of Hansen Surfboards) more than 100 groups competed for Best Representation of Community (New Encinitas, Old Encinitas, Cardiff, Leucadia, Olivenhain) and Best Representation of the Year 1986.
If you were at the parade, please feel free to add your photos or videos from the event to this story. To contribute to the gallery, simply click the link under the photos in this story.
