Sheriff's Blotter: Vehicles a Favorite Target for Thieves

Items of note from the desk of the Encinitas station of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department as of June 23.

  • A vehicle in the 2200 block of Carol View Drive was reportedly broken into sometime between noon on June 22 and 10:30 the next morning. A stereo and other electronic items valued at $900 were reported missing.
  • A 21-year-old man was arrested on June 23 on a felony count of possessing narcotic controlled substances. [Name Removed] was booked into the Vista Detention Facility after he was arrested around 4 p.m. in the 1000 block of N. El Camino Real.
  • A vehicle was reported stolen on the afternoon of June 23 in the 2000 block of S. Coast Highway 101. The sedan was valued at $1,000.
  • An act of vandalism was reported at Coast Hwy Traders on S. Coast Highway 101 on June 22. Damage was estimated at $75.
  • A rape was reported on Millbank Road on June 22. The actual occurrence was listed as the night of April 28.
  • A juvenile was arrested for being drunk in public in the 400 block of W. C Street on the afternoon of June 22.
  • A car valued at $4,000 was reported stolen in the 600 block of Via De La Valle on the night of June 22.
  • A 44-year-old man was arrested for being drunk in public in the 400 block of Encinitas Boulevard the afternoon of June 22. Erasto Perezruiz was booked into the Vista Detention Facility.
  • A petty theft from a vehicle was reported in the 1000 block of San Dieguito Drive on the morning of June 21. Money and items valued at $41.75 were reported stolen.
  • A bicycle valued at $1,000 was reported stolen in the 500 block of Orpheus Avenue on June 21. The theft allegedly occurred between noon on June 17 and the morning of June 20.
  • Tyler Bremner, 25, was arrested on a felony charge of inflicting corporal injury on a spouse/cohabitant in the 2500 block of S. Coast Highway 101 on the evening of June 21. The victim reportedly had a minor injury.
  • A petty theft from a vehicle was reported in the 1800 block of Montgomery Avenue on the morning of June 20. The theft occurred sometime between after 6 p.m. the previous day.
  • Numerous items including a computer and a briefcase were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 1600 block of Haydn Drive on the afternoon of June 20. The items missing were valued at $1,477.
  • A 58-year-old man was arrested on Requeza Street at Beach Street on felony drug charges just after 3 p.m. on June 20. Robert Littleton was booked into the Vista Detention Facility for possession of narcotic controlled substances and a misdemeanor charge of being under the influence.
  • A cell phone and two pairs of sunglasses were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 200 block of S. El Camino Real on June 20. The theft occurred sometime between 5:40 p.m. and 7:10 p.m. The missing items were valued at $639.
  • A 19-year-old man was arrested for being drunk or under the influence of drugs in public in the 100 block of Camino De Las Flores just after 10 p.m. on June 20. Jessi Vergara was booked into the Vista Detention Facility.
  • A cell phone valued at $500 was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 400 block of Santa Fe Drive sometime between 5:50 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on June 20.
  • A simple battery inflicting minor injuries was reported at N. Coast Highway 101 at La Costa Avenue the night of June 20.
  • A 36-year-old man was arrested for being drunk in public in the 1600 block of N. Coast Highway 101 the night of June 20. Neal McCombs was booked into the Vista Detention Facility.
  • A 58-year-old man was cited for possession of hypodermic needles in the 600 block of Third Street on the afternoon of June 19. He was not arrested.
  • Two juveniles were charged with curfew violations around 3:30 a.m. in the 800 block of Clark Avenue on June 19. A 19-year-old man was arrested at the same time and location for misdemeanor battery on a peace officer/emergency personnel. Antonio Ramos was booked into the Vista Detention Facility.
  • An electronic device valued at $250 was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 400 block of Neptune Avenue on the afternoon of June 14. The report states that the theft occurred sometime after 6 p.m. the previous day.
  • A bag and athletic equipment valued at $260 were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 100 block of E. Glaucus Street the night of June 19. The report states that the theft occurred sometime between 7:30 p.m. June 17 and 8 a.m. June 18.
  • Jewelry valued at $5,000 and other items were reported stolen from a residence in the 200 block of Beechtree Drive sometime between noon and 7 p.m. on June 17.
  • A 43-year-old woman was arrested for being drunk in public in the 400 block of El Camino Real around 7:30 p.m. on June 18. Julie Johnson was booked into the Vista Detention Facility.
