Special Encinitas City Council Meeting Slated for Wednesday

The 6 p.m. event will be at the Encinitas Community Center and it will not be televised.

The Encinitas City Council will have a special meeting Wednesday night at 6 inside the Encinitas Community Center, instead of City Hall.

The agenda includes information about funding for and the construction of, a project that recently .

During the Wednesday night meeting, Council will also talk about possible processes for selecting mayors—and whether the mayor position should be an elected role. Currently the council selects the mayor and deputy mayor Councilwoman Teresa Barth has served since 2006 and has never been selected as mayor. That has , and in March after a strong public outcry.
