Update: Dos Palmas Panaderia and Grill to Open May 5 in Leucadia

The project has been under construction for about a year.

Leucadia will soon be home to a new Mexican bakery and eatery. Dos Palmas Panaderia and Grill is slated to open May 5 — fittingly, Cinco de Mayo.

Dos Palmas gets its name from two large palm trees that sit near the south side of the property, which is off Coast Highway next door to Leucadia Beach Inn.

The restaurant will be open from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily and serve breakfast, lunch and plenty of pan dulce and other baked goodies. Some of the menu ideas being tossed around include mole tortas and a churro tamale on a stick, according to the restaurant’s Facebook page.

The project also includes space for two other businesses in an adjacent two-story building, one on the ground level and the other directly above. Both of those spaces will be available beginning March 1.
