Researchers at UCSD and Rady Children’s Hospital are conducting a no-cost weight control research program
for overweight children age 8-12 years old and their families.
The Pediatric Weight Control Program will focus on
making several healthy changes:
·Eating less foods high in fat and added sugar
·Eating more fruits and vegetables
·Being physically active every day
·Spending less time watching TV or playing on the computer
Are you worried about your child’s weight?
Do you have an 8 – 12 year old child?
If you answered yes to the above questions, you may qualify to participate in a 6 month weight loss program as part of a UCSD research study. The FRESH
(Family Responsibility, Education, Support & Health) study is focused on healthy eating and physical activity to promote weight loss and maintenance. The main goal of the program is to foster high quality research on the prevention and treatment of obesity. No drugs or supplements will be used and there is no cost to participants.
