MiraCosta College Launches Mobile App for iPhones, Androids & State-of-the-Art Online Virtual Tour

MiraCosta College has developed and launched an interactive “virtual tour” website and mobile application that affords prospective students and others around the world the opportunity to learn about the college, its classes, buildings and classrooms, and “meet” current students and graduates via self-guided tours.

"Now with the touch of a finger or a click of a mouse, future students from anywhere in the world can experience the beauty, innovation, diversity and accessibility of MiraCosta College," says Cheryl Broom, interim director of marketing and communications. "MiraCosta College strives to engage both our present and future students, and the new virtual tour--both the mobile and web versions--provides an interactive and innovative experience that showcases the excellence of our institution."

This new technology has enabled the college to develop an individualized tour with many features, including:

  • Vast amounts of information about the college’s Oceanside Campus and the San Elijo Campus in Cardiff, as well as a photo tour of the Community Learning Center in downtown Oceanside.
  • Availability as an app for iPhones and Androids, and on the college’s website at www.miracosta.edu/virtualtour.
  • Interactive and printable campus maps that include a combination of text, photos and videos as well as 3D interior, exterior and aerial views.
  • Student-narrated videos for select buildings and landmarks to help navigate the campus.
  • GPS capability for campus visitors, allowing them to locate themselves on the campus through their smart phone’s GPS.
  • Pull-down menus that detail the function of campus buildings, links to request information, and to enroll and register.
  • Access to a list of departments, allowing you to visit their websites or social media sites.

Using your mobile device, you can find MiraCosta College’s mobile application by searching for “MiraCosta College” via Apple’s App Store (for the iPhone) or via Google Play for Android devices. The virtual tour is also available on the college’s website at www.miracosta.edu/virtualtour.

Took this class before a trip to Italy. Very fun and was able to learn quickly with the way theRead More class was taught. Great instructor and wonderful insights. You will enjoy it if you ever wanted to learn Italian. Caio!

This is wonderful news. Congratulations to the students, their instructors and Academy staffRead More members -- and to the supportive parents. A theatre education is the best!

Hi Edward, I didn't hear any reports on the scanner or from sources of crashes, rescues or hardRead More landings.

The public deserves an objective, unemotional, factual public debate on this proposition. So far IRead More am still leaning toward a yes vote, but I am keeping an open mind at least through this month.

That may very well have been part of it. Grandma had an affinity for liquor as well, but grandpaRead More hated alcohol with a passion and wouldn't allow a single drop of it in the house. Sometimes the man's leadership is essential.

Aunt Judy was probably a very lonely person and turned to comfort in a bottle. What a darn shame.

And you know what ladies, if you don't like Batman's way you don't have to do it Batman's way. ThisRead More is America, not Batmerica, and it's not Flanderstan either. My grandmother's sister decided to become a career woman instead of geting married and having a family. She started and ran a very successful accounting business, back in the 1930s! So who needs Flanders and his women's lib? There's nothing standing in your way, there never has been. Flanders and the rest are lying to you. Aunt Judy did become an alcoholic though and died rather young because of it. Would that have been different if she had been a family woman? Nobody knows.

Well said, Nama. I was speechless to see how many people Uncle Ben had influenced during his life,Read More but it's no wonder. There may be one less Ben Taylor in our lives, but Heaven just got a whole lot more fun!
