EXUSMED™, a corporation offering affordable mobile health care solutions for both patients and providers announced today that Josh Nesbit, the CEO and co-founder of Medic Mobile has joined the corporation’s Advisory Council.
Under Nesbit, Medic Mobile, a non-profit technology company, supports 10,000 community health workers across 19 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the U.S. Medic Mobile’s mission is to improve health equity in under-served communities. The company develops mobile and web technologies for programs in challenging settings helping with stock-out monitoring, disease surveillance, emergency response and coordination across the maternal, as well as child health continuum of care.
Nesbit is an Ashoka fellow, PopTech Social Innovation fellow and Rainer Arnhold fellow. Nesbit is also an Echoing Green fellow alongside EXUSMED president and CEO, A. Latham Staples, both of whom Echoing Green selected for being agents of social change. Nesbit was selected by Devex as one of 40 Under 40 Leaders in International Development, received the Truman Award for innovation from the Society for International Development and was named by Forbes in 2011 as one of the world’s Top 30’s Under 30 social entrepreneurs. Yesterday Nesbit also was named one of seven recipients of the 2014 Skoll Award for Social Entrepreneurship.

A pilot program, launching in 2014 will have more than 800 participating physicians providing care to approximately 1,500 patients throughout Southern California. EXUSMED's programs, available to consumers in the summer of 2014 will provide improved outpatient continuity-of-care with the patient's own health care provider through on-demand, real-time mobile health care technology encounters. This will allow for more convenient and flexible care, decreasing waiting room times and accelerating diagnosis and treatment.
