Cardiff 101 Main Street Announces 6th Annual Cardiff Dog Days of Summer

The free event will feature more than 120 dog-related vendors, a dog contest, children's activities, and a silent auction.

The fastest-growing street fair for dogs and dog-lovers in Southern California is set for Saturday, August 13, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Aberdeen Drive and Newcastle Avenue in Cardiff-by-the-Sea. The 6th Annual Cardiff Dog Days of Summer, hosted by the , is expected to draw more than 6,000 four-legged friends, fans and family members.

"They say every dog has his day, and this year it's August 13th" says event chair, Brad Maassen. "The community and their canine friends come together for contests, games, one fabulous silent auction, vendors, and, of course, food.  It's a great way to see old friends and make new ones of the two-and-four-legged variety." 

Highlights of this year's event include: the Purina Rally to Rescue Pro Plan Ambassador Program; a special performance by celebrity dog trainer Melissa Heeter and the Purina Incredible Dog Team; an obstacle course sponsored by K-9 Connection; a Kid Zone with a bird show and games; a silent auction, which includes a Park City, Utah getaway; and contests with prizes going to the cutest puppy, best-dressed dog, and best kisser to name a few.

Proceeds benefit local animal charities and Cardiff 101 Main Street, which sponsors other community events throughout the year.
