FLOWERS ON PARADE AND GREENHOUSE TOUR

  • What's Up: Weidner’s Gardens will host a spring event with 100s of flower baskets. The event will include a free flower show of baskets and planters, greenhouse tours and gardening demonstrations.
  • When: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m on Saturday, April 13 and Sunday April 14.
  • Where: Weidner's Gardens, 695 Normandy Rd, Encinitas.
  • Price: Free.

FAMILY DAY AT LUX ART INSTITUTE

  • What's Up: Bring the family and head over to the Lux Art Institute. Family Day will feature free studio tours, refreshments, a hands-on art project, and live music.
  • When: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 13. 
  • Where: Lux Art Institute, 1550 S El Camino Real, Encinitas.
  • Price: Free.

AUTHOR TALK: THE ART OF CHINESE TEA

  • What's Up: Author, China-scholar and health educator Ken Cohen will discuss the art and legends of Chinese Tea. The event will feature a Chinese Tea Ceremony and tea tasting. 
  • When: 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 13.
  • Where: Ruby G. Shulman Auditorium, 1775 Dove Ln, Carlsbad.
  • Price: Free. 

AN AFTERNOON WITH LISA SEE

  • What's Up: Carlsbad Reads Together will host an afternoon with author Lisa See. She will discuss her book Shanghai Girls. 
  • When: 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 13.

DANCE AROUND THE WORLD

  • What's Up: Bring your dancing shoes to Oceanside. Come learn dances from Equador, China, Antarctica, the North Pole to the South Pole and more with Nikola Gray.
  • When: 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 13.
  • Where: Civic Center Library, 330 N Coast Hwy, Oceanside.
