STAR THEATRE PRESENTS GODSPELL

  • What's Up: Watch the newest musical production to hit the stage in Oceanside. Godspell is a musical based on the Gospel of Matthew featuring church hymns with a modern twist. 
  • When: 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 15, 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16, and 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 17.
  • Where: Star Theatre, 402 N Coast Hwy, Oceanside. 
  • Price: $7-$18.

ENCINITAS ARTS ALIVE BANNER UNVEILING

  • What's Up: Come see the unveiling of the 2013 Arts Alive Banners. Check out the banners before they are hung up all over Encinitas.
  • When: 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16.
  • Where: Cabo Grill, 950 N Coast Highway 101, Encinitas.
  • Price: Free.

AFRICAN DRUM CIRCLE EXTRAVAGANZA

  • What's Up: Discover the sounds of African drums. Create rhythm and sounds while learning the history and benefits of drumming.
  • When: 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16.
  • Where: Oceanside Public Library, 330 N Coast Hwy, Oceanside. 
  • Price: Free.

THE SCIENCE OF CHOCOLATE

  • What's Up: Learn all about the science of creating a staple food on Valentine's Day. The library will host Science Saturday featuring the science of creating chocolate. 
  • When: 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16.
  • Where: Dove Library, 1775 Dove Ln, Carlsbad. 
  • Price: Free. 

PETER SPRAGUE'S BOP MODERNO

  • What's Up: Enjoy the musical sounds of jazz music. Peter Sprague's Bop Moderno will feature five musicians playing together and making modern bop music.
  • When: 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16.
  • Where: Museum of Making Music, 5790 Armada Dr, Carlsbad.
  • Price: $20-$25.

COASTAL COMMUNITIES CONCERT BAND 30TH ANNIVERSARY CONCERT

  • What's Up: The anniversary concert will celebrate 30 years of making music. The concert will feature oboist and French hornist Tessa Vinson. 
  • When: 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 17.
  • Where: Carlsbad Community Church, 3175 Harding St, Carlsbad.
  • Price: $15.
