Encinitas Patch Week in Review

Taking a look back at the week of June 19, just in case you missed something.

This week, Encinitas Patch reported on the removal of the Surfing Madonna, hosted a discussion about traffic and the Leuadia Farmers Market, wined and dined in Cardiff and more.

Mark Patterson, the Leucadia artist responsible for the popular but illegal “” on Encinitas Boulevard, removed the mosaic Wednesday night.  The removal was part of an agreement Patterson made with city officials—in return for taking the artwork down, the city acknowledges Patterson’s ownership of the piece and is allowing him to install it legally elsewhere in Encinitas.

Most people in Encinitas love the —most people, that is, who don’t live in the neighborhood. One local resident has taken issue with the Sunday traffic the event causes and proposes that the market be moved elsewhere.  Read her op-ed and tell us what you think.
