Encinitas Surf Report: Feb. 27

Much cleaner than yesterday; surfable waves to be had.

It looks like the storm system has passed through. There's a little remnant of the chop but conditions look pretty clean, although most local beaches remain under an advisory to stay out of the water.

Let's call it waist to chest high with occasional shoulder-high sets.

This morning's high tide, which peaked a little past 5 a.m. at 5 ft., is finally making wave heights more punchy. Tide drains to a low at around noon (-0.4 ft.).

It's still a WNW/SW combo swell so there should be a wave somewhere. Hopefully the threat of getting sick from surfing in the rain will keep the crowds down.

Megadose on Vitamin C.
