Gas Prices Drop for 28th Straight Day

The average gallon of self-serve regular gas costs $3.974.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County decreased today for the 28th consecutive day, falling 1.4 cents to $3.974, one day after dropping below $4 for the first time since Aug. 10.   

The average price has dropped 75.1 cents over the past 28 days, including 1.7 cents on Sunday, after rising 54.7 cents over the previous six days to a record high of $4.725 on Oct. 8, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.   

The average price is 19 cents less than one week ago and 54.9 cents lower than one month ago but 12.2 cents higher than one year ago.
