Born and raised in Cardiff by the Sea, father and son team Jeff and Jay Grygera have made a move to turn their San Marcos-based surfboard manufacturing company, Iron Cross Surfboards, into a full-fledged surf shop. Their aim is to promote their label and serve the local community's wave-riding needs.
Not only do Jeff and Jay handcraft and sell their own boards, but they offer surfboard rentals and lessons for any beginners who would like to give it a go. They also provide professional ding repair at their factory in San Marcos.
With over 35 years of experience in the industry, Jeff has been shaping boards since he was 15 years old and has owned his own label since the age of 18. From traditional shortboards and guns to summertime fishes and longboards—as well as a whole line of stand-up paddle boards to choose from—they've got something for every surfer and every wave.
