"Vixen” is the pet of the week at your Rancho Coastal Humane Society in Encinitas. She’s an 11 month old, 5-1/2 pound, spayed, female, Tabby cat with a short fur coat.

Vixen is more petite and more quiet than the other guests in the RCHS cattery. While the other cats might greet you with a hearty “Meow-ry Christmas,” Vixen is more likely to purr and wish you a “Happy Mew Year.” She’s shy when she meets new people. But once her purr-sonality comes out Vixen is not shy about asking for attention…especially tummy rubs.

Vixen is almost a year old and she still acts like a kitten, but she’s not going to grow much more. One of the care providers in the cattery describes her as “a cat that’s light on her paws.”

Vixen was transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society from another facility through the Friends of County Animal Shelters program. The $100 adoption fee includes medical exam, up to date vaccinations, spay, and microchip identification.

Adopt Vixen or sponsor a pet until its new family takes it home. Call 760-753-6413...log on to SDpets.org...or visit Rancho Coastal Humane Society at 389 Requeza Street in Encinitas.
Kennels and cattery are open Wednesday through Monday from 11 to 5.
