'Road-E-O' Rolling in to Encinitas City Hall This Weekend

The San Diego County Sheriff's Department is holding a special bike safety event for kids.

Kids can strap on their helmets and tighten up their training wheels for an upcoming special bike safey event in town this weekend.

The Encinitas Sheriff's Station is partnering with Friends of Cycling and Encinitas Parks and Recreation for a on Saturday at City Hall.

The Bike Road-E-O will feature a bicycle and helmet safety inspection and a quick lesson on the rules of the road, so parents can feel safer when their kids beg to go out for a ride with friends. A "chalk street" course will be laid out for young cyclists to ride on and learn the ropes. Sheriff's Deputies from the Encinitas Station will escort the kids through the course to point out hazards and give safety tips.
