This week, meet Oscar, a happy-go-lucky pup who is waiting to be the light in someone’s life.

Breed: German Shepherd/Hound mix

Oscar loves other dogs, riding in the car, and going for walks. He also loves playing ball, which you can see for yourself here in this video of him. And don't get too close to Oscar, unless you want a sweet puppy kiss — this boy is brimming with love.

Oscar was transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society from another animal shelter that was running out of room and could no longer keep him. At 41 pounds, he's almost fully grown, but still an active, happy puppy.

Oscar is available for adoption at Rancho Coastal Humane Society. His adoption fee of $125 includes medical exam, neuter, up to date vaccinations, and microchip identification.

 is located at 389 Requeza St. in Encinitas. The hours of operation are from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., except on Tuesday, when the shelter opens at 11:30 a.m.
