The Encinitas Historical Society celebrated the Encinitas Schoolhouse's 133rd birthday with a public open house on Oct. 6 and a private gathering on on Oct. 3.
During the Oct. 3 event, County Supervisor Dave Roberts presented the Historical Society with a $4,500 grant. Alison Burns, president of the Encinitas Historical Society said that those funds will greatly help with the schoolhouse's termite problem.
