Supervisor Dave Roberts reminded area residents on Friday to turn off their sprinkles this weekend. Rains have already drenched San Diego County and more is expected Friday night and Saturday.
"With much-needed rain soaking the county into the weekend, please give your sprinkler systems a break for at least one week," Roberts said in a newsletter out to constituents on Friday afternoon. "That will go a long way toward reducing our consumption of precious imported water."
He added that the San Diego County Water Authority publishes outdoor water conservation tips on its Web site.
