Surf Report & Forecast for April 21-22

Morning sessions showing small and inconsistent sets; things could get bigger by afternoon.

Morning sessions are seeing knee- to waist-high sets, with the rare chest-shoulder sneaking in, but overall, morning sessions are rather ho-hum. That could all change as a new SW is expected fill in gradually, and really show its face by this afternoon.

You never really can tell with these rolling SW systems if it's going to be a couple feet overhead and closing out or nicely shaped shoulder-high peaks.

The new SW swell comes on the heels of another S-SW system, both of which originated south of the equator. There's also supposed to be some NW windswell influencing both wave shape and size. There's already a slight ripple to surface texture.

Tide is currently filling in, doing so until it reaches 3.5 feet at 1:15 p.m. Tide drops slightly, just a little over a foot, before bottoming out at 6 p.m.

Sunset tonight: 7:26 p.m.

Water temperature: 60 degrees.

For tomorrow, April 22, we should see plenty of at least shoulder-high sets, especially at standout spots that pick up the south swells. Early morning sessions might not see much activity as low tide peaks at 7:45 a.m. at a negative 0.5 feet. Late morning sessions could be more fun, if the wind doesn't become a factor.
