Surf Report & Forecast for April 5-6

Knee- to waist-high this morning; SW looks more dominant as NW and windswell fades.

After yesterday's beautiful, sunny, 70-degree gem of a day, this morning seems downright chilly and a weakening NW swell isn't compensating for the overcast conditions.

Currently, inconsistent sets coming in knee- to waist-high are the norm, but if you take a look at spots that can pick up the SW, you'll see more of a precense from that direction than you will the NW.

Infrequent but decent-sized waves might roll through beaches with good SW exposure.

High tide peaks this morning at 11:15 a.m. at just under 4 feet. This afternoon's low tide occurs at 4:30 p.m. at 1.5 feet, followed by a early evening incoming push. By last light, tide will be at about the 4-foot mark.

Sunset tonight: 7:14 p.m. Moonset is at 9:31 p.m.

For tomorrow, April 6, new long-period SW is supposed to arrive steadily throughout the day as is a new modest NW swell, which adds up for the possibility of good-size surf like we had last week—though it probably won't be stellar off-shore conditions like last time.

Questionable wind and weather will be the norm for the next few days. Stay tuned. And keep in mind that the stairs at Swami's are being worked on until 3:30 p.m. today and tomorrow.
