Swap Food and Convo in Encinitas Saturday

Encinitas Food Swap is back this weekend at Glen Park.

The phrase “what’s mine is yours” rings true this weekend at here in Encinitas.

It’s time again for another Encinitas Food Swap, put on by Leucadia resident and mom . The swap is open to anyone who loves food and wants a taste of the community.

The event begins at 10 a.m. sharp with some social time for the first 30 minutes, followed by a tasting and silent auction. The last half hour of the event is the actual food swapping.

Baril-Ortley started this event to help bring a sense of community to the area, as it encouraged neighbors to meet others and share a bit of themselves at the same time. All types of food are welcome — homemade curry sauces, homemade cookies, truffles, jams, whatever your specialty is!

All items must be labeled with the ingredients you used to make them, but the recipes is not required, so secret-family recipes can be kept safe. If you’ve got an orange tree in your backyard, make some orange-cranberry muffins! Got a tomato garden? Make a marinara sauce for your neighbor to enjoy on a night they need a quick meal!
