Between April 3 and June 30 the Cardiff-by-the-Sea Library will host paintings by artist Juan Flores.
The exhibit showcases views of Cardiff Reef and other Encinitas surf spots
At times the artist paints the ocean as seen by the surfer floating on thewater, waiting at the lineup for the next wave. The image recreates the feeling of distance from the shore and the dance between sky and sea. Other times the sea is shown just before or after a surf session in a moody light during the early morning or in the twilight before complete nightfall.
