Nix the Mid-Week Slump with 'Lux at Night'

Head over to Lux Art Institute Wednesday night for live music and food.

Art is fun enough on its own, but Lux Art Institute is kicking things up a notch by adding live music, food and suds.

is a monthly event held at the Lux Art Institute. It’s an opportunity for both members and non-members to browse through the museum’s featured artist’s work and socialize with other art aficionados.

This month, artist ’s work is on display. According to Lux’s website, Agee’s work “explores the intersection of domestic space and art production, merging decorative and fine arts and playing with historical conventions of art as seen through contemporary eyes.” Her work is on exhibit at the Lux through Oct. 29.

Stone Brewing Co. and Bear Flag Wine will be serving up adult beverages to sip on while you browse the art, making this event for adults 21 and older. Guests can also munch on some food truck goodies provided by Food Farm, a company that prides itself on its local and sustainable food. Their menu consists of deliciously simple items, like grass-fed sliders, an avocado melt and a fresh veggie salad.

The Bossa, a local ensemble that performs soulful Brazilian music, will provide entertainment for Lux at Night. Click here to listen to some of their tunes.

Does Lux at Night sound like a mid-week activity for you? Visit the Lux Art Institute, located at 1550 S. El Camino Real, tomorrow evening, from 6-8 p.m. Members of the institute are free and non-members just pay $5.
