Jazz Up Your Weekend with Brasil Jazz Festa

Looking for something with a little culture to do this weekend? How about some jazz?
The is turning into a music festival on Sunday — a Brazilian one. Residents can come to the library for the . The musical treat will celebrate Brazilian jazz and will feature 10 of San Diego’s best musicians.
There will be three music sets during the festival:

- David Scheid from Porto Alegre, Brazil, and his group featuring master percussionist Mark Lamson
- Danny Green Quartet highlighting Brazilian inspired compositions from his new release
- Allison Adams Tucker Group with a tribute to the great Brazilian vocalist Elis Regina
Other musicians during the evening will include Tripp Sprague, Justin Grinnell, Danny Green, Julien Cantelm, Evona Wascinski, Claudia Lyra, DavidScheid, Mark Lamson, Brian Pierini and Allison Adams Tucker.
The all-ages event was launched in 2008 after several local jazz musicians attended the renowned California Brazil Camp in Northern California and returned with a desire to share some of what that inspiration with the community.
