Teachers Can Head to the Botanic Garden for a Lesson in Agriculture

Teachers can learn how to bring agriculture to the class.

Teachers are one of the most valuable things in our life. They pave the way for us in life and make a huge difference for our future. Tomorrow, teachers can get a bit of a “thank you” for all they do while learning about agriculture.

The government program, Ag in the Classroom, is holding a for teachers at the San Diego Botanic Garden tomorrow. Teachers can visit the Garden where there will be informational booths and vendors, lesson plans and even giveaways for teachers.

There will also be Garden Grant applications, which can supply money to your school or classroom so you can have your own garden at school for the kids to learn about food and grow their own vegetables.

Teachers will get to meet some local farmers and learn ways to implement nutrition and plant information, as well as environmental awareness, in their classrooms. Food and wine will be served.

Are you a teacher that wants to teach more about gardens and plants inside the class? Visit the Botanic Garden, located at 230 Quail Gardens Dr., from 4-6 p.m. tomorrow. Admission is free but call up Kathy at 760-745-3023 or email her at Kathy@sdfarmbureau.org to see if there is space still available.
