Storm Causes Power Outage in Encinitas

Electricity should be restored by noon.

Some Encinitas residents are without power after a storm rolled through Tuesday night.

Approximately 1,500 San Diego Gas and Electric customers have no electricity, according to an outage map on the company’s website.  The outage appears to be concentrated east of Interstate-5, near in the New Encinitas and Olivenhain area.

Crews are on the ground working to fix the outage and hope to have all power restored by noon, according to an SDG&E representative.

Tuesday’s storm is the first of two storms expected this week. Another round of rainfall is expected after Thursday.
