101 Original Banners Unveiled, Will Grace Encinitas Coast Highway Posts [Video Clip]

The banners—all original paintings—will be available at a live auction in May.

Vinnie Tessieri unveiled a banner Saturday that will hang near his home in Cardiff. The painting shows an ocean sunset behind palm trees.

“This is my view every day,” he said. “I … really wanted to represent what home is to me. We live in Paradise.”

Tessieri's was one of 101 paintings shown during the 2013 Arts Alive Unveiling in Leucadia, which had about 400 attendees, according to organizers. The waterproof pieces are being displayed on lampposts along Coast Highway until May, 101 Artists Colony president Danny Salzhandler told Patch.

“(The display) adds amazing color and creativity to our Historic Coast Highway,” he stated. “I am sure the Encinitas pioneers that settled San Dieguito would be proud.”

Those interested in the banners were able to place silent bids Saturday. A live auction will be held 2 p.m. May 26 at the Cardiff Town Center Courtyard.  Parties may place silent bids by calling 760-436-2320.
