Elli Quark, a German-Style Yogurt Comes to San Diego

Elli Quark will be trickling into Whole Foods Markets locations in San Diego this month.

Elli Quark, the first spoonable German-style quark cheese to hit the United States, offers a line of five flavors with less than 90 calories in each 6 oz. cup, Elli Quark is made with all-natural, Kosher- certified, vegetarian-friendly ingredients, and has no added sugar.

I tried all five flavors and found the pineapple flavor to be my favorite followed by the strawberry flavor, and the lemon flavor. I found the red velvet flavor to be just ok and wasn't too impressed with the original flavor, although it could be used for baking. Elli Quark is thinner than the greek yogurt I'm used to.

“Quark has been popular in Germany and throughout Europe for centuries due to its desirable texture and numerous health benefits, and we’re extremely excited to introduce it to the U.S. market,” says Elli Quark Founder Preya Patel Bhakta.
