Encinitas Highway 101 Coordinator to Step Down

Peder Norby was hired by the City of Encinitas as a consultant to help promote the Highway 101 corridor in 2007.

Peder Norby, who for years was head of the Downtown Encinitas MainStreet Association, has announced that he will step down from his post as the city's Highway 101 coordinator. 

He was hired by the City of Encinitas as a consultant to help promote the Highway 101 corridor in 2007.

According to U-T San Diego, Norby wrote in an email to colleagues, the city council, and various community members, he was leaving with "a heart filled with warmth and joy, and with great admiration and appreciation for all that is past, present and that lay in the future for this great city."

The 50-year-old Carlsbad resident told the paper he wasn't sure what his next job would be, but that it would be "consistent with his passion for promoting sustainability and relocalization within communities.
