Encinitas Man Publishes E-Book After Failed Kickstarter Bid

Encinitas resident Richard Georges had only one backer in his online fundraiser for "Neurotic Man" Project—which includes an online book and merchandise. With only $35 pledged on his Kickstarter project, he didn’t reach his $5,500 goal, but he did decide to publish the book in electronic form.

Less than 32 percent of publishing projects on the site are succesfully funded, according to a Media Bistro report .

“Lots of projects don't get funded that appear on Kickstarter,” Georges stated. “Perhaps the project was too neurotic. Or I did a lousy job of promoting it. Or I was wrong about the potential appeal.”
