Encinitas Man Publishes E-Book After Failed Kickstarter Bid

Encinitas resident Richard Georges published "Neurotic Man" online.

Encinitas resident Richard Georges had only one backer in his online fundraiser for "Neurotic Man" Project—which includes an online book and merchandise. With only $35 pledged on his Kickstarter project, he didn’t reach his $5,500 goal, but he did decide to publish the book in electronic form.

Less than 32 percent of publishing projects on the site are succesfully funded, according to a Media Bistro report .

“Lots of projects don't get funded that appear on Kickstarter,” Georges stated. “Perhaps the project was too neurotic. Or I did a lousy job of promoting it. Or I was wrong about the potential appeal.”

The book—a collection of vignettes— is available at neuroticman.com.
