Encinitas' Newest Bar Shelter Holds Soft Opening

Shelter is almost open in Encinitas. They are aiming for Thursday as the opening date but that is subject to change.

On Saturday, the lounge-type bar hosted a soft opening that ended up with a large line out the door and crowded bar by 11 p.m.

Shelter is an open-air bar, but there is a retractable roof that could be used. It's got a hip, urban vibe with a downtown or Vegas-like feel. Specialty cocktails are around $12 each. Bring a sweater or dress warm. There is a nice fire area on the outside back patio.
