Meet the Paskowitz at Bliss 101

Two members of the "first family of surfing" will be showcasing their work Feb. 23 at Bliss 101.

The public is invited to join Joshua Paskowitz,—the youngest of nine children in the famed “first family of surfing” —at 6 p.m. Feb. 23 at Bliss 101.

He will be showcasing his sketches and his father, Doc, will be selling autographed copies of his book "Surfing and Health.”

The family was the subject of the 2007 documentary “Surfwise” and was known educating and raising nine children in a camper while traveling the nation to surf.

In 2010, Entertainment Weekly reported that Sean Penn was working on a movie about the Paskowitz family.
