Photo: Santas Pub Crawl in Encinitas; Raise Money for Charity

The Santa Cause Pub Crawl raised $1,550 for the The Boys and Girls Club of San Dieguito in Encinitas, organizer Monika Stout told Patch.

Dozens of Santas and Mrs. Clauses took to the Encinitas streets Saturday to spread Christmas Cheer, do some fundraising and grab some beers along the way.

The Santa Cause Pub Crawl raised $1,550 for the The Boys and Girls Club of San Dieguito in Encinitas, organizer Monika Stout told Patch.

In its first year in 2011, the crawl raised $1,700 by having participants pay to enter and by selling mistletoes.

Event organizers modeled this pub-crawl after some of the bigger Santa-inspired pub-crawls across the nation, like one in Reno that draws more than 3,000 Kris Kringle impersonators, and they are planning to make this an Encinitas tradition.
