SDG&E Crew Restores Power to Hundreds of Homes in New York

More than 600 customers in Warwick, N.Y., have had their power restored by SDG&E crew.

As San Diego County residents head to the polls under sunny skies and warm temperatures, many people on the East Coast are still without power more than a week after Superstorm Sandy took out power lines and flooded utility tunnels.

A crew from SDG&E travelled to New York to help restore power to the thousands of people left without lights and heat as temperatures dip below freezing. They were assigned to Warwick, N.Y., north of NYC, where they have already restored power to more than 600 customers.

Jim Valentine, construction and operations manager, reports that area residents have been stopping to say thanks, dropping off hot dogs and applauding them at restaurants.
