San Diego, CA – The Board of Directors of the Council of Community Clinics (CCC) and its subsidiaries have named Henry N. Tuttle as its new Chief Executive Officer.  Tuttle takes the reigns of an organization that provides centralized support services to 16 member community clinic and health center organizations operating over 100 sites in San Diego, Imperial, and Riverside Counties.  “We are very aware of Henry’s exceptional leadership capabilities and organizational vision, which he has demonstrated so proficiently throughout his career,” said Zara Marselian, Chairman of the CCC’s Personnel Committee.  “We are confident he can provide the tools and the direction the organization needs to continue to build on the solid foundation that is already in place.  We are excited and encouraged about the Council’s future direction under his leadership and we are looking forward to working with him.”

The mission of the CCC is to represent and support community clinics and health centers in their efforts to provide access to quality health care and related services for the diverse communities they serve with an emphasis on low-income and uninsured populations.  Over 750,000 individuals count on the CCC member community health centers for their primary care needs through almost 2 million annual health care encounters.

Tuttle brings 30 years of leadership experience to CCC, the most recent as CEO of Manet Community Health Center, Quincy, MA, where he was responsible for enterprise-wide business strategy and policy development; health care assessment, program development and delivery, fiscal policy, capital generation and financial management; human resources and facilities management; public affairs, advocacy and advancement; and operations management, regulatory and legal compliance.  During his tenure at Manet, operating revenues increased by 39.2%, the employee base grew by 60% and the organization undertook a massive effort to enroll over 15,000 residents into health insurance coverage since the passage of health care reform in 2008.  Under his leadership, Manet consistently scored above the ninetieth percentile in patient satisfaction and is on track to achieve Level 3 certification as a Patient Centered Medical Home by the National Committee for Quality Assurance later this summer. Known for his visionary leadership and strategic planning skills, he has led crisis management efforts during numerous natural and man-made disasters, financial turnarounds, and most recently implementation at the regional level of Chapters 58 and 224 of Massachusetts’ health care reform legislation.

Prior to his role at Manet, Henry served as the Chief Executive Officer for Outer Cape Health Services, a multi-site organization located on Cape Cod.  In addition, Henry has held leadership positions at Pacific Gas and Electric Company in San Francisco and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.  He has also served on various boards of directors including Quincy Medical Center, The South Shore Workforce Investment Board, and the Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers.  During his prior term of employment in California, Henry chaired the corporate communication committee for the American Cancer Society California Division and served as vice chair of the board of the Public Relations Roundtable.

Henry began his duties as Chief Executive Officer for the Council of Community Clinics on July 14, 2014.
