Shameful, Shocking and Distasteful. Though Expected (Considering the obvious source).
I was not happy to receive an expensive political mailer in my mailbox this past weekend attacking a respected leader in this community running for city council, Tony Kranz.
And not just because I voted for Tony. Because it disgusts me when politicians blame the other guy for problems they have, to confuse the voters.
After all, our mayor, Jerome Stocks, is known for his many displays of anger, confrontation, sarcasm, condescension and divisive language at city council meetings and elsewhere. Here is just one of the websites with evidence of this. Yet he attacks another candidate for his problem?
It's obvious that it could only be friends of Jerome Stocks or he himself using money from his out-of-town developer supporters who sent this out. Our little town of Encinitas does not need this level of spending on a campaign, nor the unneeded vitriol. And any candidate who thinks they need to attack their opponents to this extent is certainly not worthy of being voted back into office.
Goodbye Mr. Stocks!
