Economy Grows 2.5 Percent in Third Quarter

The economy is inching its way forward due to consumer buying and automobile sales. The housing market is waiting for the labor market and perhaps HARP to help stimulate the economy.

The fears that we are heading into another recession were eased after the third quarter reports from the Commerce Department showed the economy is growing slowly, but surely. Diane Swonk, chief economist at Meslrow Financial reiterates, "we're inching our way forward."

Consumer spending, especially on automobiles, along with personal consumption increasing 2.4 percent compared to the .07 percent earlier this year. Concerns over the housing market are fueled by the "anemic labor market", say Kathy Bosjncic in an article written by Jim Puzzanghera for RIS Media.
