Meet and Greet Local Author Lisa Monaco Gonzales Who Shares Her Story to Help Others

Summer Festivities at Flower Hill Promenade feature author, Lisa Monaco-Gonzales at Pangaea Outpost and the rock and blues band, CODA at Pannikin, Friday July 20.

“I share this story for all of the princes and princesses, the superheroes and rock stars, the ninjas and fairies, the wizards and ballerinas, the cowboys and mermaids. For all of the innocent children. Every single one,” writes Carlsbad-based author, Lisa Monaco Gonzales, about her story titled Sinlessness which is part of the anthology Unbreakable Spirit: Rising Above the Impossible (Yinspire Media, $17.95), published by Lisa Nichols.

In the book Lisa Monaco Gonzales shares her moving personal story of being sexually abused as a child by the father of a neighborhood friend and how those memories resurfaced in her early twenties and the effect they had on her thereafter. Through therapy and support groups, Lisa came to the realization that the time had come to use her voice to help others, the one she never could as a child.

Lisa’s goal in sharing her experience is to educate others on this issue and to help fellow survivors understand their pain and provide hope and inspiration to transcend their despair. She offers resources and tools that create awareness amongst our parents, teachers, and guardians in our community.
