Polo Match to Benefit Sentebale
A fundraising polo event to benefit the charity Sentebale which supports the forgotten children in poverty stricken countries.
What could be better than the best seats on the field watching the sport of kings? Well, you can do just that, right here in San Diego this Sunday, June 24. While royalty is not scheduled to appear, the “Chukkers for Charity” polo event at the San Diego Polo Club in Del Mar will benefit Prince Harry’s charity, Sentebale -–which translated means “Forget Me Not”--and which will showcase some of the nation's top drawer polo players.
Sentebale was founded by Prince Seeiso from the Lesotho Royal family and Prince Harry from the British Royal family in response to the plight of the neediest of Lesotho’s people — its orphans and vulnerable children. Prince Harry’s USA fundraising team has arranged a number of exciting events stateside that will culminate in a magnificent polo match with HRH Prince Harry in 2015. Sunday’s event, sponsored by the American Friends of Sentebale, is the introductory polo match that debuts the long term fundraiser. Beside polo the event will feature African music and a dance presentation. Post-match festivities include live music and dancing, raffle opportunities, and a silent auction. And don’t forget the half-time divet stomping with the traditional flute of champagne.
Gates open at 12:30pm and the event will last until 7pm. Admission into the VIP tent with reserved seating includes lunch, soft beverages, a champagne flight at lunch, dessert, and champagne at half time, as well as a take-away gift bag of goodies.

VIP tent seating is $75, general admission is $15. Tickets are available for purchase for a jewelry opportunity drawing; the winner snags a pair of emerald and diamond earrings. And limited edition polo shirts are available for purchase.
Sentebale is a reminder of all children who need help, as well as a symbol for Prince Harry’s and Prince Seeiso’s charity work that helps memorialize the former work of their late mothers, Diana, Princess of Wales and Queen Mamohato, respectively. Sentebale is a registered charity that targets particular support to the most vulnerable of vulnerable children–the forgotten victims of poverty, the disabled, ill, abandoned and neglected.
