Celebrate National Donut Day in Encinitas

The holiday is celebrated annually on the first Friday in June.

Friday is National Donut Day, an event created way back in 1938 by the Salvation Army to honor the women who served doughnuts to soldiers during World War I.

The holiday is celebrated annually on the first Friday in June.

The big doughnut chains—Krispy Kreme and Dunkin' Donuts, to be exact—are commemorating the day by handing out free treats. The only Dunkin' Donuts in California is on the Camp Pendleton Marine base.

The closest Krispy Kreme location to Encinitas is at 4130 Clairemont Mesa Blvd. in San Diego.

However, there is one local donut shop that Encinitas residents can hit up on Friday. Check out the listing below and call them to find out if there are any specials on Friday.
