Environment Day, Powwow and Filipino Cultural Celebration Highlight Weekend Events

North County will have a great lineup of things to do for kids, seniors and everyone in between.

11TH ANNUAL INTERGENERATIONAL ARTS RECITAL

• What's Up: City of Encinitas will host a performance featuring kids, teens and seniors. Performers will showcase what they learned in the City's recreation classes.
• When: 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 7.
• Where: Encinitas Community Center, 1140 Oakcrest Park Dr., Encinitas.
• Price: Free.

• What's Up: The annual Inter-Tribal Powwow will bring together various Native American tribes for two days of Inter-Tribal dancing, Gourd dancing, live music and more.
• When: 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, June 8 and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 9.
• Where: Mission San Luis Rey, 4050 Mission Avenue, Oceanside.

• What's Up: The Filipino-American Cultural Association of North San Diego County will host a cultural celebration. The event will include music, dance, food, talent showcase, costume show, pageants and more.  
• When: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 8. 
• Where: Oceanside Civic Center Library and Plaza, 330 N Coast Hwy., Oceanside.
• Price: Free. 

• What's Up: Celebrate Encinitas Environment Day in conjunction with the United Nations World Environment Day. The sixth annual celebration will feature 40 vendors, family friendly activities, environmentally-themed art tour, games and more. 
• When: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 9.
• Where: Cottonwood Creek Park, 95 Encinitas Blvd., Encinitas.

• What's Up: Civic Youth Orchestra Primary Strings, Wind Ensemble, Intermediate and Chamber Strings will perform at the end of the year concert. 
• When: 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 9.
• Where: Carlsbad Cultural Arts Center, 3557 Monroe St., Carlsbad. 
• Price: $5-$10.
