Editor's note: The following s an announcement from the City of Encinitas:

Looking to buy a bagel, rent a boogie board, get some beach toys for the kids and -- don’t forget the sunscreen lotion -- all in one convenient location, not just near but at the beach? Welcome to Moonlight Beach Deli and Dogs, operated by Kihack Management, LLC, which operates the Encinitas Chevron and Car Wash and its original Deli and Dogs location inside the facility.

Deli and Dogs will open at newly renovated Moonlight State Beach in early June, just in time for the June 13th Grand Re-Opening highlighted here. It will be located in a spacious new 3,600-square-foot restroom/concession building.
The concessionaire was selected based on a comprehensive application and qualification process, including interviews of finalists.

Moonlight Beach Deli and Dogs brought a sample of every item on its current menu, impressing the selection committee with the quality, freshness and diversity of offerings. Visitors to the new beach location will enjoy the same custom menu and high level of service as at Encinitas Chevron. Featured are daily fresh breads and pastries, fresh-brewed coffee and espressos, ACAI bowls, signature sandwiches, pizza, soups, gourmet hotdogs and hamburgers.

Kihack owners Corinne and David Hackbart also own Solana Beach-based San Diego Electric Bike Company, so in addition to a broad array of delicious and healthy food, Deli and Dogs will offer a large rental fleet of electric and non-electric bikes as well as surfboards, boogie boards, wetsuits, beach toys, umbrellas and chairs. Sundries and other amenities will be sold as well.
