Music Festival, Independence Day Parade and Concert Brings Weekend Fun

SUMMER FUN ON THE 101

• What's Up: Leucadia 101 Main Street will host Summer Fun on the 101: Leucadia’s Music Festival. The two day event will feature an art show, live music and more.
• When: 3 p.m. on Friday, June 28 and 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 29. 
• Where: 454 Tattoo and Body Piercing, 454 N Coast Highway 101, Encinitas. Other locations include Moonlight Beach and Roadside Park. Check online for details.
• Price: Free. 

• What's Up: Catch a parade, concert and movie all in the same day. Parade will begin at 10 a.m. at the 101 Cafe on Coast Highway and Wisconsin Avenue. After the parade, a concert, food and activities will be available at the Junior Seau Pier Amphitheater. The movie Bring It On will play at 8 p.m. 
• When: 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 29. 
• Where: Coast Hwy., Oceanside. 
• Price: Free. 

• What's Up: The library will host a panel of women from various genres. Authors include Laurel Corona, Kathi Diamant, Zoe Ghahremani, Judi Liu and Caitlin Rothe. They will discuss their books and be available for a book signing. 
  
• When: 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 29. 
• Where: Dove Library, Ruby G. Schulman Auditorium, 1775 Dove Ln., Carlsbad.
• Price: Free. 

• What's Up:  Summer Avant Garde Session Concert will feature Ensemble Et Cetera, Frog and Toad and Glen and the Boys.
• When: 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 29. 
• Where: Encinitas Library, 540 Cornish Dr., Encinitas.
• Price: $6-$8.

• What's Up: Heritage Park Summer concert series will feature the contemporary jazz band, Allan Land Trio. Food, drinks and ice cream will be available for sale.
• When: 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 30. 
• Where: Heritage Park, 220 Peyri Dr., Oceanside.
• Price: Free.
