Video: Killer Whale Swims Alongside Boat off San Diego Shores
Boaters sighted a killer whale off of La Jolla last week.
Tourists aboard Ocean Odyssey had a rare sighting off La Jolla on Sunday – a killer whale.
In the video, the killer whale swims around and plays in the bubbles near a boat about 5 miles off shore.
A marine biologist from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in La Jolla told the U-T San Diego that killer whale sightings in San Diego are indeed rare.

“This is very unusual,” he told the newspaper. “It happens, but I hear about it only once every five to 10 years.”
