SWING for STUDENTS - Golf Tournament - 1/27/14

Encinitas Educational Foundation (EEF) to “Swing for Students” at Encinitas Ranch Golf Course for its 4th annual golf tournament January 27th 2014.

Encinitas, California – December 31, 2013 – EEF is sponsoring its 4th annual Swing for Students Golf Tournament raising funds to support the students of Encinitas Union School (EUSD) on January 27th, 2014 at beautiful Encinitas Ranch Golf course.  The golf tournament brings together community members including golfers and businesses throughout the Encinitas and So. Carlsbad.  Participation helps EUSD schools maintain excellent academic opportunities for our students.

With sponsored holes, raffle opportunities and much more, the tournament is sure to be good fun for a good cause.

Junior celebrity golfer and EUSD Student, 10 year-old Jonas Appel will be joining the event. Jonas is a five time participant in the Callaway Junior Worlds Championship held each July in San Diego, he’s also a two time SDJGA (San Diego Junior Golf Association) Player-of-the -Year 2012 and 2013, 2013 U.S. Kids State Champion - Boys 9 and Participant in the U.S. Kids World Championship at Pinehurst Golf Resort-North Carolina August 2013. Jonas will be hitting the first tee shot at the 2014 Farmers Insurance Open -Torrey Pines later this month.

This shotgun start tournament welcomes Registration as a foursome ($600) or as a single ($175) player. Event tickets and partnering/sponsorship opportunities available through the Encinitas Educational Foundation sponsorship page.

EUSD Superintendent, Dr. Tim Baird, plans to play the course looking for forgiving fairways while walking through the picturesque bluffs.  The course, known for its spectacular location and memorable layout, offers an enjoyable round for golfers of all levels. 

EEF is a nonprofit devoted to enriching the educational experience for students in the Encinitas Union School District.  By connecting Business, Parents and Community, EEF builds partnerships and fundraising opportunities to overcome school district fiscal restraints. Funds generated support Visual and Performing Arts, Science, Technology, Foreign Language, Wellness and Environmental Programs to create world-ready students.
