Community Corner

12th Annual Bike A Thon to benefit our Local Kids.

As y'all know Team Shoebacca participates in several charity events throughout the  year. THIS ONE IS VERY CLOSE TO MY HEART PLEASE FIND THE TIME TO ATTEND OR SUPPORT, IT HELPS SO MANY KIDS AND THEIR FAMILIES.
Please mail me with your preferred time or any questions, teamshoebacca@gmail.com

This is a must do. It's Super fun and its all about Kids and their Families, AND we get to ride bikes, well sorta ride, Ha
This 8 hour cycling event is made up of 40 teams and nearly 300 participants all spinning to raise money for the YMCA’s Annual Giving Campaign. All proceeds benefit children, families and seniors in need in our community and give them the ability to access YMCA programs through financial aid. The Magdalena Ecke Family YMCA has offered quality programs and YMCA membership to all community members, regardless of ability to pay for over 42 years. Last year nearly 3,000 children, seniors and families received financial assistance from the Magdalena Ecke Family YMCA!

A health fair, live and silent auctions, as well as program demonstrations make the Bike-A-Thon a fun and lively event. Prizes go out to teams who raise the most money and everyone receives free giveaways from local sponsors. Local eateries provide food and refreshments which increases the community support that this event generates.
I've seen some of the silent auction items and they are Great, everything from Endurance Race entries to Spa packages. Ha from suffering to pampering.
So come Ride, Shop or just hang out (Valentines day is the next week, just sayin) and help many less fortunate Children have a Great experience at our Y.
